The Glens Falls Black Bears Boys High school basketball team capped off a remarkable season being the only team in the state of NY to go undefeated on the season at 27-0. In front of a home crowd at the Cool Insuring Arena, the Black Bears beat Section V Wayne 50-37 to finish up the season with a Class A State Championship win. It's the 2nd title in the last 5 years for Glens Falls who also won back in 2019. After Wayne had chipped the lead down to 22-18, Glens Falls went on an 18-1 run that sealed the win for the Black Bears. It was quite the run for Glens Falls, after getting by Lansingburgh in the semifinals of the Section 2 tournament, they knocked off top seeded Catholic Central to get the sectional championship. After getting to the state tournament, the beat Beekmantown by 50 points, then defeated Westhill in the Regional finals before winning their final two games by 48 points. The home town fans were treated to some great local high school basketball this year. And the good news is for Glens Falls is that 4 of the 5 starters return next season. Should be fun to watch!
