Today marks the first day of spring. Although you may not know it from the temperatures last night and today. However, it's always a welcome sight here in the North Country. There are various celebrations in different parts of the world to commemorate the spring equinox. At Stonehenge in England, people show up to watch the sun rise on the equinox. In Japan, the spring equinox is a national holiday called Shunbun No Hi. And the Persian New Year is celebrated which is called Nowruz which starts on the vernal equinox. In total, it's a 13 day celebration. Here in the US, we just welcome in the warmer weather!
