Recently in a restaurant in Vermont I tried to get a straw for my soft drink. To my surprise, you can't get a "normal" straw anymore. It's a paper version that disintegrates almost as soon as you use it. I love the state of Vermont, but I've come to the conclusion that anytime I go to a restaurant in Vermont, I have to bring my own. I understand people who want to save the planet, but can I just get a plastic straw that works? Just saying.
